Dr. Wen Cong (E.I.T.) has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Zhejiang University, a M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with a focus on Water Quality Engineering. She has extensive research experience on drinking water disinfection, with a focus on viruses. She performed studies on Coxsackievirus, Human Adenovirus, and Bacteriophage PR772, about their inactivation kinetics by chlorine and UV, inactivation mechanisms with quantitative PCR as a tool, and viral sensor development. Since joining Trussell in December 2022, Wen has been helping with tech memo development and lab management. Her work interest includes drinking water treatment process, disinfection, and disinfection byproducts, and she is starting to develop interest in potable and non-potable reuse and wastewater.
