Emily Holland is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California and has a B.S in Environmental Engineering and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her master’s thesis was focused on nitrogen removal in wastewater using a process called bioaugmentation with a proprietary blend of microbial cultures. She operated a pilot-scale batch reactor to assess how well the proprietary blend of microbial cultures removed nitrogen compared to natural bacteria at different stages of the wastewater treatment process at the San Luis Obispo Wastewater Treatment Plant. At Trussell Tech, Ms. Holland assists with operating reverse osmosis and breakpoint chlorination pilot studies, estimating operation and maintenance costs for a full-scale reverse osmosis system, and writing operation plans for potable reuse facilities.
