Ms. Teresa Venezia has a B.S and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University La Sapienza and a M.A. in Governance, Auditing and Control Systems from the University of Roma Tre, both in Rome, Italy. She has extensive experience in pilot testing for water reuse and reclamation applications, particularly testing the effect of ozone pretreatment of secondary effluent on MF fouling, the effect of ozone pretreatment on reverse osmosis (RO) membrane performances, implementation of ozone dose-control strategies, effect of ozone on NDMA formation and on EDCs (endocrine disruptor compounds) reduction. She has evaluated perchlorate removal from groundwater using ion exchange or biological processes.
She has designed and tested a laboratory apparatus to perform ozone demand and decay tests, tested a laboratory instrument for the detection of explosive compounds; She has studied the contribution of atmospheric deposition of toxic contaminants to contamination of urban stormwater runoff; she has worked on waste recovery and recycling using the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) approach and sustainable technologies, and she has worked on a variety of water quality projects as well. Ms. Venezia’s experience includes project planning, project writing, laboratory work and field work.
