Federick (Fed) Pinongcos has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and an M.S. in Civil Engineering (emphasis in Environmental Engineering) from San Diego State University. His master’s thesis focused on investigating the anthropogenic sources of microbial contamination that occurs in the San Diego River during storm events. Mr. Pinongcos’ prior work experience include stormwater sampling and surface water monitoring. He has done work for the SD Coastkeeper, SD Regional Water Quality Control Board, SD River Conservancy, and SD River Park Foundation. Prior to joining Trussell, he was conducting research in Trinidad and Tobago under the Fulbright Program where he was looking at the phytoremediation potential of vetiver grass and red mangroves. His current work at Trussell includes lab analyses for various water quality parameters, data analyses, and aiding in technical reports.
