Elise Chen has a B.S. and M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. Ms. Chen has more than 10 years experience working in the field operating and providing technical assistance on numerous pilots, demonstration, and full-scale Advanced Water Treatment (AWT) facilities in California. Ms. Chen leverages her operations experience to shape various aspects of potable reuse projects like AWT operator training, regulatory support, start-up and commissioning support, facility optimization studies, prequalification of membrane technologies, and control strategy optimization. In addition, she continues to work on research project to advance the water industry’s understanding of potable reuse. Her general interests include water and wastewater treatment, water reuse, and increasing water security for future generations.
