Michael Sherer has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and an M.S.E. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining Trussell, Michael worked as a water/wastewater process engineer in Texas for over 8 years. In that role, Michael has worked on numerous treatment plant projects (both greenfield and rehabilitation/expansion of existing facilities) from conceptual design through construction. He has extensive experience in designing groundwater treatment processes, including low pressure membranes for treating groundwater under the influence of surface water, greensand filters for iron and manganese removal, and reverse osmosis membranes for arsenic removal and brackish groundwater desalination. Michael also has experience creating water quality sampling plans, designing wastewater treatment processes, developing potable reuse feasibility studies, evaluating corrosivity of water, helping clients with regulatory coordination, and estimating construction costs.
