Michael Karish is an associate engineer. He has a M.S. from UC Berkeley in environmental engineering and a B.S. from UC Berkeley in environmental engineering science. He previously did an internship with Trussell in which he worked on the day-to-day field work and the data analysis of a non-potable reuse pilot project for the East Bay Municipal Utility District. During the internship he made a tool in R to allow for quick removal of data characteristic to maintenance events. As an undergrad, Michael did research in the Alvarez Cohen Lab doing both wet lab and data work related to the laccase degradation of PFAS. He also gained hands on engineering experience as a project lead in a rocketry club at Cal. As a master’s student, Michael was a TA for organic chemistry. Michael is particularly interested in using biology and chemistry to design more efficient and drought adapted water treatment systems.
