The Process and Water Quality Specialists
Through a highly competitive selection process, an international team led by Trussell Technologies, Inc. secured the WateReuse Research Foundation (WRRF) project 11-02 entitled “Equivalency of Advanced Treatment Trains for Potable Reuse”. This effort is a $1.3 million project that will focus on treating municipal wastewater to a level that is appropriate and safe for reuse purposes. The project team is comprised of a number of California agencies, including the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (Upper District), Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD), Orange County Water District (OCWD), Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), City of San Diego, West Basin Municipal Water District, Helix Water District, Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency, and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The project team also includes Carollo Engineers, the University of Arizona, numerous public health experts, and other key agencies from around the country (Florida, Texas, Virginia) and even Australia. Several vendors, including APTwater, H2O Engineering, GE Water, and ITT/Wedeco will also be donating their technologies and expertise to the project. The distinguished team hopes to tackle the challenges posed by this broad topic and identify strategies to increase water security and self-reliance for many arid regions.
